Snapshots of Shanks and team members, some when he was with the Fargo-Moorhead Tiwns, while others may be when he was with the Fargo Athletics and Moorhead Athletics. Most are taken on the baseball field in Fargo. The snapshots were removed from an album at some point and only several have accompanying identification. One image shows Shanks pitching at a game. Several of the images appear to be players when not in baseball uniforms. The 1941 image appears to be former baseball players gathered for a reunion, with some wearing old uniforms.

Robert Shanks, known as Ralph Shanks during his baseball career, was born at Hannah, N.D. in 1898. He served in World War I and attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, N.D. In Fargo he played with the Fargo Athletics, Moorhead Athletics and the Fargo-Moorhead Twins baseball teams in the 1920s. He later worked for the IRS in Fargo.
